Richmond Elementary School (RES) is a Second Life role play school for SL children ages 2 - 12. RES is founded on the idea that a school should be fun and entertaining while at the same time provide the students with an outstanding role play environment in which they can be kids and feel like they did when they were kids.
At Richmond Elementary we have a balance between realistic role play and a relaxed atmosphere in which all individuals can be themselves and form long lasting friendships and everlasting memories .
Our school is guided on these simple principles.
1). Nobody comes to a second life school to learn their ABC's, we are all adults and we all know our ABC's quite well. We wish to role play in a school setting because we want to relive a moment in our lives where the school playground and classroom offered us a home away from home in which we formed many friendships and experienced moments that left an impression on our lives. Sometimes it is the opposite and we wish to role play in this environment because we were deprived of this experience as kids.
2) No child is bad. No child's chosen form of role play is wrong. Some kids choose to be brats, some choose to be good, some choose to be quiet and calm while others choose to be hyper and loud. No kid should be made to feel like an outcast because their chosen RP does not suit yours. No child should ever be labeled a troll because they choose to role play as bad kids.
3) Richmond staff understand that we work for the students. We will treat with respect at all times.
4) We don't hire staff, we form a family. Staff and administration will treat each other with respect. Help each other when possible and care for our school and our students.
